TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Thank you for choosing to book your stay at Bank House.  We’re really looking forward to welcoming you.

When making a booking at Bank House you are entering into a legal agreement with us and signifies your acceptance of our terms and conditions.  – please read these terms and conditions.  We reserve the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time.
Room rates
Our B&B rates include your accommodation and a full cooked breakfast plus a hot drink and cake on arrival.

Our self catering rates include your accommodation and full use of the guest accommodation, kitchen and reception rooms on the ground and first floors.  Please note that Gerry’s private accommodation is on the second floor of the property.

A welcome package with homemade bread, cake and marmalade is also offered free of charge – we will discuss this when you make  your booking and will aim to accommodate any dietary preferences.

Deposits and balance payments

For all bookings: a deposit equal to 20% of the total cost of your stay is required to guarantee a booking.

For group bookings where you have booked exclusive use of the house (whether B&B or self catering):

  • the balance payment is required six weeks before you arrive.

  • If you are booking within six weeks of your arrival full payment is required at booking.

For individual B&B bookings (one or more rooms)

  • the balance payment is required fourteen days before you arrive.

Security deposit (for self catering bookings only)

An additional security deposit of £300 is required when you make the balance payment for your stay.  This is required to cover the cost of any damage, major breakages, theft or the need for specialist cleaning (e.g. smoking) and for lost keys.  The security deposit will be returned within seven days of your departure assuming all is well.  We do not charge for minor breakages although we appreciate it if you can leave a note so that we can replace items ready for the next guests

Payment
We accept payment by bank transfer and by cheque or via credit/ debit card if you are booking through the website.

Cancellation and Insurance
Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit paid is non-refundable other than as outlined below.

  • For group bookings: If you need to cancel six weeks notice of cancellation is required for refund of the deposit.

  • For individual B&B bookings: If you need to cancel fourteen days notice of cancellation is required for refund of the deposit.

If you need to cancel please contact us immediately by phone so that we are able to readvertise the rooms.

If we are able to re-let the cancelled accommodation, we will refund the deposit already paid.  If we are not able to re-let the room(s) we regret that we cannot return your deposit.

If you cancel within seven days of your planned arrival, or are a ‘no-show’ we will charge you the total cost of your reservation.

You may like to consider taking out holiday insurance.

Force Majeure
If we have to cancel any booking due to our own illness or bereavement, or close due to adverse weather, flooding, fire or any circumstance deemed beyond our control whatsoever we will try, but not guarantee, to relocate all bookings (to alternative, suitable, accommodation in Bishop’s Castle).  If this is not possible, then we would refund all monies paid by you.

Children
We welcome children to Bank House but we ask that they are supervised at all times. Each child of 2+ is counted as a guest for the purpose of calculating room and total occupancy.  Children of 2+ should be accommodated in single beds as provided.  Babes in arms and children under 2 should sleep in travel cots provided by you.  One high chair can be provided on request.
This is a very old house with oak floor boards and staircases and is great place for children to explore but we ask parents to be mindful to avoid slips and trips.  Our location means that a trip to the nearest A&E can mean a drive into Shrewsbury on country roads.
Check-in and check-out
Check-in is between 4pm and 7pm.  If you plan to arrive later than this, please let us know before you book.

Check-out is by 11am on the day of your departure.

If you need to drop off bags before check in time or leave bags to collect after check out this may be possible but please contact us to discuss this.

Smoking and vaping
We operate a strict no smoking or vaping policy throughout our premises, including the garden. Smoking in the bedroom will render you liable for the cost of a deep clean to remove all traces of smoke.

Pets

Bank House is home to our very wonderful cat – Brie - you may see her in the public areas of the house but she has not yet found a way to break into the guest bedrooms (nor would she ever be permitted to do so).

We do not accept any other pets at Bank House even the best behaved ones.

Takeaway food
If you decide to grab a takeaway please let us know and we will set a table for you in the dining room. Please do not eat hot takeaway food in your bedroom.

Damages and breakages
Please take care of our accommodation and its contents. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but reserve the right to charge for any items damaged or removed during your stay. Please report any damage or breakages to us as soon as they occur.
Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or their possessions unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
