BOOK THE WHOLE HOUSE B&B
Knowing what is needed for holidays for different sorts of groups has been the key for creating a home from home feel for our guests. The five guest bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and can be configured in various ways to accommodate up to 14 people. The flexibility means the house works equally well for groups of five individuals or couples who each need their own ensuite bedroom or for a group of 14 walkers and cyclists that all want single beds.
If you are bringing your group to Bank House on a B&B basis you can also stop worrying about the details. Gerry will work with you to ensure that the bedrooms are set up to suit the needs of your group. She will be at hand to serve a cooked breakfast every day and provide a cake or other treat for when you arrive and on each afternoon of your stay.
This is also a popular option for wedding groups who enjoy the flexibility and privacy offered by Bank House and offers a great location for photographs. We have been chosen by several couples as a base for the bridal party or groomsmen or as a base for family and friends. Popular local wedding venues include Bishops Castle Town Hall, Walcot Hall and Camlad Barns.
With exclusive use of the house you also have the option to use the kitchen & dining room for other meals or to bring in a caterer - all we ask is that the washing up is done and the kitchen left in good order for breakfast service. Gerry will be happy to come up with ideas for catering services.
You can book the whole house on a B&B basis for up to 14 people (inc. children) for a minimum of two nights. Longer minimum stays apply over Bank Holiday weekends. We do not offer the B&B option over Christmas/New Year but Bank House is available on a self catering basis (it is advisable to book well ahead).
Prices for two nights B&B start at £1,200 for up to ten people with discounts for longer stays. Up to four additional guests can be accommodated for a charge £60 each for two nights including breakfast.
If you are thinking about booking to bring a group to Bank House for B&B you can check availability via our online booking calendar or please email gerry@bankhouseb&b.co.uk with information of what you have in mind and she will be happy to help.
Occasionally we will put last minute availability with booking agents such as Airbnb - but for the best price you are always recommended to book direct.
BOOK THE WHOLE HOUSE FOR SELF CATERING
Self catering is a great option for family get-togethers and for groups of friends where you want the full run of the house and kitchen and prefer to make all your own meals.
You still have all the delightful features of staying in a luxury B&B – great beds, cotton bed linen, bathrobes, fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries – so all you have to organise is the shopping. As with any group booking Gerry will work with you to ensure that the five guest bedrooms are set up to fit with the needs of your group with exactly the right combination of superking and single beds. This flexibility means the house works equally well for groups of five individuals or couples who each need their own ensuite bedroom or for a group of 14 walkers and cyclists that all want single beds.
The kitchen is very well equipped for catering for a large group. This includes four ovens, two hobs (gas and induction), a microwave, two fridges, freezer, wine fridge, dishwasher, Quooker boiling water tap, food mixer, blender & bread maker. All crockery, glassware, cutlery, pans and utensils are provided. The dining room can seat up to 14 people. You may want to bring in a caterer or private chef for a special meal - we've included a list of local options here.
The drawing room is well equipped for rainy days and lazy days with a smart TV with Netflix, a DVD player and Sonos blue tooth speaker. A basket of logs is provided and you can help yourself to additional logs from the store in the car park.
The welcome hamper provides some local goodies including a homemade cake, bread and Bank House marmalade or jam.
Shopping for food in Bishop’s Castle is very convenient.
The Co-op is a good option for all the basics and is only 50 metres from the door and open from 7am to 10 pm every day (except Christmas Day).
Our local butcher – Andrew Pugh – has a shop on Church Street. All of their meat is locally sourced and they offer a wonderful cheese selection as well eggs, bread, vegetables and fruit.
Jane’s Flowers and Gifts provides a good range of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as wonderful flowers.
The local Spar is located at the filling station in Church Street.
The regular local markets run at Lydham (just a mile out of town) on Friday or at Montgomery on Thursday and Saturday.
Or if you book an online delivery this can be waiting for you when you arrive.
You can book the whole house on a self catering basis up to 14 people (inc. children) for a minimum of two nights. Longer minimum stays apply over bank holiday weekends and Christmas/ New Year (it’s advisable to book well ahead for these holidays).
Prices for two nights start at £1,100 with discounts for longer stays. You can check the tariff here.

BOOK A B&B STAY FOR ONE OR MORE ROOMS
While we have set up the house with groups in mind Bank House is a great B&B for individual stays and we welcome guests who want to book just one or two rooms. To keep the diary open for group bookings we usually only accept individual bookings if you contact us within six weeks of your stay.
We open up the calendar in full on a rolling basis from six weeks before any available date. The easiest way to check availability and book a particular room is to look on our [online booking calendar] or please email firstname.lastname@example.org with information on what you have in mind.
Prices for two nights B&B start at £200 per room for one or two guests with discounts for longer stays. Two of our rooms (Rowton and Stokesay) have space for one additional bed so can be set up as a triple or family room. Our largest room, Caradoc, can have one or two additional single beds added. Each extra guest sharing a room can be accommodated for a charge of £60 each for two nights including breakfast.
Bookings are for a minimum two night stay at weekends although we may be able to offer one night stays from Sunday to Thursday (although not in the busiest seasons) We particularly welcome walkers and cyclists and we realise that if you are walking the Shropshire Way, cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats or similar routes you may only be able to stay for one night.
We occasionally put last minute availability with booking agents such as booking.com – but for the best price you are always recommended to book direct.
