MORE ABOUT US
Our award winning Georgian renovation is more than just an architectural jewel – it’s a haven for relaxing stays and special celebrations – and for walking and cycling groups looking for a bit of extra comfort and direct access to the Shropshire Hills and Welsh border country.
Find us right in the centre of Bishop’s Castle (just a stone’s throw away from the Town Hall and the Three Tuns Brewery) and enjoy our large rooms, with sash windows, high ceilings, log fires and great views across the roof tops of the medieval town.
You will receive a warm welcome with tea and cake on arrival. Gerry loves to bake and create so you will be sure to find some homemade treats in your room. All the bread is homemade and makes wonderful toast which will be served alongside homemade granola on the breakfast buffet. Each B&B room offers hospitality trays with fresh coffee, a range of Clipper teas together with homemade shortbread and a lemon drizzle cake. (Other cake/ biscuit options are available - just let us know if advance. We'll also try to find suitable alternatives if you need to avoid wheat and/or dairy.
Gerry’s other passions include traditional upholstery and stained glass. The upholstery started with a need for decent headboards but now means that every rooms includes beautiful chairs and sofas given a new lease of life.
Gerry moved to Bank House in 2013 and threw her heart into the complete renovation of this landmark property which opened to guests in August 2015. Working with Shropshire architects Greenspace, the house has been designed to offer modern levels of comfort run on renewable sources of energy. This green ethos has been reflected in our approach to running the B&B with its focus on buying local, minimising waste and reducing energy use
